Pumangol participated in the Africa - Gulf Cooperation Dialogue (AGCD), held on the sidelines of the Doha Forum 2025. The company was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Ivanilson Machado, who was invited as a speaker in the session Powering the Future reinforcing Pumangol’s role in global discussions on energy transition and sustainable development in Africa.

Organised by the Institut Choiseul, the AGCD brought together governmental, business and institutional leaders from Africa, Europe and the Gulf region to strengthen cooperation in strategic areas such as investment, connectivity, energy infrastructure and geopolitical coordination. The event concluded with a renewed sense of partnership and shared ambition between the two regions.

In the Powering the Future session, Ivanilson Machado joined a high-level panel featuring Paul Obambi (Sapro Mayoko SA), Basil El-Baz (Carbon Holdings), Mehmet Arif Ozozan (UCC Holding) and Khawaja Aftab Ahmed (IFC – International Finance Corporation), moderated by Manal Bernoussi. The discussion focused on three critical pillars shaping Africa’s energy future:

Green Energy & Critical Minerals: How financing and technology from the Gulf region can accelerate the development of renewable energy and strengthen value chains for minerals essential to the energy transition.

Climate Resilience & Resource Governance: The importance of collaborative frameworks that ensure environmental sustainability and effective climate adaptation.

Sustainable Partnership Models: The need for transparent, equitable and long-term cooperation structures capable of generating meaningful impact.

In his intervention, Ivanilson Machado highlighted local capacity building as a central element for a realistic and inclusive transition, stating that:

Knowledge must be shared and consolidated within the country. Our development must respect our priorities and our reality.

Through its participation in the AGCD, Pumangol reaffirms its role in the international dialogue on energy and sustainability, at a time when Africa and the Gulf are preparing to shape a new chapter in global growth.
