Ivanilson Machado honoured in the Peace and Development category

Ivanilson Machado was distinguished by the President of the Republic for his remarkable contribution to the country’s economic and social progress.

The Chief Executive Officer of Pumangol, Ivanilson Machado, was distinguished by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, with the Medal of Peace and Development, as part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Angola’s National Independence. This honour acknowledges the pivotal role that the Pumangol leader has played in driving transformation and growth within the national energy sector.

Since assuming leadership of the Pumangol Group in 2020, Ivanilson Machado has led a profound strategic transformation guided by innovation, efficiency, and sustainability. Under his direction, the company has expanded its retail network to 83 service stations across the country, created numerous direct and indirect jobs, and strengthened its position as a company with 100% Angolan ownership and leadership.

Among the major projects implemented under his management are the Pumangol Fuel Terminal (TCPL) and aviation terminals, both of which have enhanced the logistical and operational capacity of the energy sector.

His vision also rests on a strong social commitment, reflected in impactful initiatives in education, health, and road safety, recognised both nationally and internationally. These efforts have earned distinctions such as Best Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year (Forbes Lusophone Africa) and Best Fuel Distributor (Angola Oil & Gas), both in 2024.

With executive training from prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School, INSEAD, and London Business School, Ivanilson Machado has been recognised by international organisations including the Choiseul Institute and Forbes Africa, as one of the Top 100 Young African Economic Leaders and one of the Top CEOs of the Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP).

More than an individual accolade, this distinction symbolises the journey of a leadership that reflects Pumangol’s talent, competence, and unwavering commitment to Angola’s sustainable development.
